This blog started off as an inside joke between me and Dave. We found that we were explaining to people--neighbours, other artists, random friends of friends who wanted us to do a painting for them (but in the style of Monet, because that'll cost less, right?)-- that our art style was realistic, you know, exactly the way things looked. We painted stuff to look like the stuff it was supposed to look like.
This blog started as a way to keep family and friends apprised of our doings. These days we have
readers from all over the place, many of the art students. We hope that our posts are helpful and informative, although we don't pretend to be authorities on painting. We are simply sharing our own methods and techniques.
We live on Vancouver Island with a German Shepherd, a flock of chickens, and a very corpulent baby who arrived in early 2016. We share a studio, paint together, and have a lot of fun together. We wanted this blog to represent just how much fun we have with art.
